Setup and Care of D2000 Small Pipes

    • The small pipes require very little air pressure
    • Please don't over blow the pipes
    • The drones tune by sliding in for a higher pitch and out for a lower pitch.
    • Do not inflate the bag to the same pressure as you would the Great HighlandBagpipe.
    • Think of the bag as a reservoir of air for the small pipes and rememberthe reeds will not require as much air since they are plastic, overinflationwill stop the reeds from sounding.
The easiest way to start the small pipes is to follow these simplesteps:

    1. Put the blow stick in your mouth and with the left hand on the chantersupport the drone with the right hand.

    2. Fill the bag as you would the great Highland Bagpipe while holdingthe drone stock with your right hand, secure the bag under your left arm, thus allowing the chanter and drones to sound simultaneously.

    3. When you first receive your small pipes blow them for a few minutesbefore tuning the drone. This will allow the reeds time to settle and giveyourself the time to adjust your blowing pressure.

    4. As per storage of the shuttle pipes treat them the same as you wouldthe Great Highland Bagpipe and never leave them to freeze in the trunkof your vehicle or exposed to direct sunlight.

    Maintenance

    • The small pipes are designed to be user friendly.
    • The reeds are plastic and therefore do not need to be removed from thepipes.
    • As per hemping the same applies to thes shuttle pipes as the Great HighlandBagpipe: if the stocks are loose hemp is required.
