In a nutshell...Burns Lake lies at the heart of the Lakes District. More than a thousand lakes, from secluded kettle holes to vast inland seas, teem with trout and await your hook or paddle. Some of the largest char and rainbow trout landed in B.C. have been caught on Uncha and Francois Lakes. The land that isn't under water is covered in lush green forests or rolling golden hay. Burns Lake is the gateway to Tweedsmuir, B.C.'s largest Provincial Park. There are no roads into this park - access is by air, water or foot - and this wilderness paradise has changed little since it was first explored nearly 100 years ago. Now Burns Lake offers every modern convenience to make your stay in the wilderness comfortable: Lodges and resorts, motels, RV parks, an art gallery featuring local works. and chartered air services.
